NOW ON TO MY PROJECTS!

I wanted to be sure and have a boy and girl project for each of these 3 days! I have two boys and two girls so I wanted to give you a chance to see both sides :)

For this blog hop I will be focusing on two wonderful ladies! I met both of them almost 2 years ago on the same day. I was one of their Visiting Teachers for church! These two special ladies are Sherrie and Elizabeth. It works out perfect because Sherrie is due with a little boy in November and Elizabeth is due with a little girl NEXT WEEK! I am so thankful that I had the chance to meet them!

So the boy projects I made for Sherrie, and the girl projects I made for Elizabeth!

Thank you ladies for being so AWESOME!

For today's project I wanted to make a Onesie for each of the ladies. I love the sweet little images on the Nursery Tails cartridge! So I chose my images then reversed them and printed them on the iron-on paper. I love the fact that the Imagine can print and then cut out my image. Then ironed it on the onesie.

NOW ON TO MY PROJECTS!

So I wanted to do a Digital Scrapbook page for Day 1 of this hop! Usually I just do the quick pages, because half of the time my computer takes FOREVER to process.... when I am making pages.  So I hope you enjoy the two pages I have done, as I rarely complete my own digital pages :) But I do love the fact that you always have the kit to work with and you don't run out of paper :) Plus it is SO EASY to duplicate for Grandparents! I made these pages so that they would fit 2 4x6 photos, so no cropping needed :) I know Costco and Walmart have cheap prices for printing out these 12x12 pages.

I wanted to be sure and have a boy and girl project for each of these 3 days! I have two boys and two girls so I wanted to give you a chance to see both sides :)

I put " Our First Day With You", on the pages so they could put some pictures of the first day they have with their new little baby! It can also be used for a grandparents page for the first time they meet their little grandchild , or for a page when their brothers or sisters get to hold them for the first time. It can also be used for Adoption pages, because a lot of times the adoptive parents don't get a chance to be there at the birth. So I like the phrase " Our First Day With You" so it can be whenever the first meeting takes place!

Magnets...for Sigrid, Ella and Valerie

Hi Everyone!

Sorry for the short post yesterday!!! The glue on the first set of magnets wasn't holding correctly so I had to do the magnets over again.. and finally got my project linked at the very last minute!!!

The first time I did the magnets I printed them on cardstock and glued them on with  clear Tacky glue but I did not like the way they were not drying and starting to seep through the pictures. The second time I printed them on Photo paper and they looked even better!  Once I used a 1" circle punch to punch out the images, I used some 1" epoxy stickers to place over the top of the images to seal them. If I wasn't in a hurry, I would have used Glossy Accents to put on top of them to seal them in, once dry , that leaves a 3D effect as well, but it takes 24 hours to dry. My daughter tried it on her magnets and key chains that she made before I bought the epoxy stickers. I bought almost all of my supplies on eBay through the same seller, they have great prices, customer service and fast shipping!!
The seller is "histrucks_herdolls ". I bought the bottle caps, epoxy stickers, bottle cap punch and flattened bottle caps from this seller. My daughter used the bottle cap punch to make a hole for her key chain and it works perfectly! This time I used glossy accents to glue them on and they are still drying but holding better. :) I then glued on a magnet that I got at Walmart. They are thicker black magnets and work perfectly for the bottle caps, I got a pack of 50 for $5.97 :)

I used the print only option on the Imagine machine and sized the heads to 0.7" and that seem to be the perfect size for the bottle caps. I tried just printing some of the backgrounds in a 1" inch circle but it made the images SO TINY :) so later I will try printing out other backgrounds at the normal size and then punching them with the circle punch.

I can't wait to try making other cool stuff with the bottle caps :)

This magnet is for my awesome crafty friend Sigrid M.!!!

Sigrid makes the cutest cards ALL the time. She has sent me a couple

of her wonderful creations!!! I don't know how she has the time to do

as many as she does it is AMAZING!!! :) When I bought the stuff

to make magnets I knew I wanted to make one for Sigrid because she

is so sweet!!! Her favorite color is yellow, and this girl reminded me of her :)

 This magnet is for one of my friends Valerie who can make just about anything

with a sewing machine :) She is currently making me several items!!!

She is a very busy lady!!! She is SO nice.. This magnet looks like a reddish brown hairstyle in the picture, but looks more brown style in person so that is why I picked it for Valerie! She works SO hard

all of the time to make her totes, purses, and wallets perfectly personalized for all of her customers.

That is how I met her, and she lives in the same area as I do, so we have had the chance to talk in person. :)

This one is for my friend Ella, who I met through Valerie's Face Book page. She makes

the most amazing bows, bow holders, TuTu's and Tutu dresses!!! I have ordered

a bunch of things from her and LOVE all them! I am so glad I got to meet

her online :) She is such a sweet person!!! This magnet reminded me of her and she LOVES

the color purple! Hopefully soon I will be able to post the card I am working on for her!

She is the reason why I decided to buy all the bottle cap supplies! She makes bows with bottle cap

images on them! I thought it would be cool to try and make some bottle caps after seeing her

bows so I bought all the supplies, and now can start making them for my friends.

Christmas in July (Guest Designer)

Hi Everyone!

I am one of the guest designers this week for the Christmas in July week going on at http://crossmyheartpapercrafts.blogspot.com/. There are wonderful designers throughout each day all week.

I was to make a treat using the Cricut Cake for my Christmas in July project. Using the Cricut Cake was no problem...trying to think of an idea for Christmas...harder. :) I have been trying to figure out what I wanted to do for weeks.. A few days ago I saw a Disney ad in a magazine and thought of Mickey Mouse. When I was little and lived in Florida I remember going to Disney World  when it was all decorated for Christmas, it was ALWAYS so BEAUTIFUL... Disney never does anything small. One of the things I remember other than all the decorations and rides, was getting a Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Bar. I just recently bought some of the Cricut Cake Dark Brown frosting sheets and thought that would work perfect for my project. I have heard people have had a difficult time using the frosting sheets, but they cut out PERFECTLY! I love them! So much easier and faster than color and rolling out the fondant. I wanted to make them into Mickey Mouse Cookies on a ice cream stick of course :) Then I added a Santa hat to go with the theme! These could be used for any holiday and just change out the hat.
I made the cookie dough using Betty Crocker cookie mix in a pouch. I added a little bit more flour as it works better in the Cricut when I do so. After I rolled out the dough onto the mat, I put it in the freezer for 20 minutes. I then let it sit for a few minutes and then started cutting the Mickey Mouse head and Santa hat. I cut out two of the Mickey heads so I could make the cookie thicker. I laid out one Mickey head on the cookie sheet, put the ice cream bar stick on top and then laid the other Mickey head on top of that and pressed the top down a little. I put them in the oven until they were light brown on the edges. Once cool I frosted the Mickey Mouse head with Butter cream frosting and then I cut the Mickey Mouse head out with the Dark Brown Frosting sheet (I put shortening on the mat to make the frosting sheet stick to it), and laid it on top. I then used some red icing to ice part of the Santa hat and used the white butter cream to frost the rest so it looks like fur. I then put some icing on the back of the Santa hat and put it on top of the Mickey Head.
