Bunnies and Blossoms Banner Hop for Special Needs Children

If you are looking for the Destinations Blog Hop, my post is below this one :)

Welcome to the Bunnies and Blossoms Banner Hop for Special Needs Children.
  • Today and tomorrow (March 24-25), 30+fantastic papercrafters have come together to create Spring-themed banners. They will then donate these banners to Ellen (CardMonkey), who works as Admissions Coordinator at Pediatric Specialty Care (PSC), www.pediatricspecialty.com.

PSC is a long-term care facility for special needs children who are medically-fragile and/or technologically-dependent. The babies, children and youths at PSC range in age from birth to 21, and are admitted from all over the country.
Some are infants, born prematurely and before their lungs have had a chance to mature. Others have serious birth defects, illnesses or injuries from accidents that cause them to need tender loving care in a home-like environment -- many for their lifetimes.

Our banners are meant to cheer the young patients, their families, and the staff at PSC. Here is the banner that I made and will be sending to Ellen to decorate a child's room:

For my banner I FINALLY decided on which rabbit I wanted to use. It was an adorable one on the Nursery Tails Imagine Cartridge. Then I decided to use all 5 of the animal icons on this cartridge. I wanted to make a flower or a rosette for the animals to go on. I finally decided on one on the Ribbons and Rosettes cartridge. I like how it almost makes it look like a flower.

For my papers, I knew I would need 2 full pages per rosette and I wasn't sure if I had 10 pieces of paper that coordinated well together and fit with the animals. So I decide to print my own paper with the imagine using the Nursery Tails cartridge and then I used my gypsy to cut out the rosettes. They were super easy to fold and went together easily. You will need to cut out the rosette 6 times and glue the ends together. Then I used hot glue to hold the rosette together and glued on the animals.

Supplies:
Cricut Imagine
Gypsy
Cricut Expression
Nursery Tails Cartridge
3 N 1 glue
hot glue gun and sticks
white ribbon
white cardstock
circle punch

DISNEYLAND!!!

It was super easy to choose my destination for this fabulous hop! As my family will be going to DISNEYLAND in 1 month!!! :) I have so much to prepare before the trip!

My first project I will show you is the countdown calendar I made for my daughter. I am making one for my boys also but haven't finished them yet :( I will be making Mickey for one of them and The Genie for the other one. :)

Here is my daughter's calendar, I used the DCWV Chalkboard paper so she can change the day everyday. I printed the words using the Imagine. I was going to add a border along the edge but my daughter wanted to just leave it the way it was :)

Supplies:
Cardstock
ATG gun
Zig Two Way glue
Cricut Craft Room
Cricut Expression and Cricut Imagine
Mickey and Friends and Mickey Font Cartridges
DCWV Chalkboard Stack
Blue Chalk

For my next project I wanted to make a few shirts for everyone to wear on our trip. So I will be showing you the first one I have made, it is for my daughter. She LOVES Donald Duck but there aren't very many shirts of Donald Duck in girls sizes.

after printing it out on my Imagine

Here is her shirt..

a closer view :)

Supplies:
Iron On Transfer Paper
Cricut Craft Room
Cricut Imagine
Mickey and Friends Cartridge
shirt

I created this using the Cricut Craft room and printed it on my  Cricut Imagine. It took some time to do, as I had to piece everything together and some parts come as two so I had to hide some and resize some. Then finally I had it all done and then realized that I still had to flip the design since I was printing it on an Iron On transfer, so then I had to move some things around again :) I than printed it out using the Imagine and after letting it dry I cut it out and then ironed it on a white shirt.

I want to dress up the white shirt a bit so I am going to get some blue and yellow ribbons to tie on the sleeves :) I remember people used to do that a few years ago. I haven't got the ribbons yet as I want to find the ones that match my daughters bow :)

I bought this bow from one of my good friends I met on Facebook. I just told her what I wanted it to look like and she made it PERFECTLY! :) She makes FABULOUS bows! She is the only one I buy my bows from :)

Here is her Facebook page if you want to take a look

Disney Gives Back Blog Hop March 12-13

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for Joining me for the Disney Gives Back Blog Hop! :) I would like to thank our wonderful hostess Shawnee for letting me be part of this AMAZING event! :)

Welcome to the Disney Gives Back Blog Hop. This wonderful blog hop was created out of a desire to give back to a wonderful organization called Crops of Luv. Throughout the hop, you will see layouts from talented crafters who have chosen to give back and help make these children's days brighter.

Crops of Luv makes albums for Make A Wish Albums for families who go to Disneyland or World. Please visit and support each crafter and also if you would like to make layouts for Crops of Luv you can do so by contacting.... Crops of Luv at http://www.cropsofluv.com.

If you came here from Gaby's Blog then you are in the right place. If you just happened upon this blog by email or web surfing, please go back to the beginning to Shawnee's Blog and visit the hop from the beginning. You don't want to miss out on any of these amazing layouts.

Our grand prize blog candy is a set of Stamps from CardzTV Stamps set Encouraging Thoughts. This is a great stamp set!  You get one entry for hopping with us and a 2nd entry if you make a 2 page layout for Crops of Luv and mail it. Post your layout to the Mr. Linky here then mail it to:
Crops of Luv

Now on to my project!!!

I love Disney!!! So it was hard for me to narrow down what I wanted to make for my page. I started looking through all my Disney cartridges and couldn't decide on anything, so then I started looking through my papers and finally decided I wanted to make some picture frames to put on the "wall" of my page :) Then I decided on the title "Picture Perfect" and then I started laying out my items on different pages until I found the paper I liked the best :) I love the way it goes together. I then added a button and some photo mats to complete my page.

I love doing things for children so I jumped at the chance to be a part of this very special hop, I hope they will love my layout as much as I enjoyed making it! :)

Sorry the pictures aren't that great :(
