If you are looking for the Destinations Blog Hop, my post is below this one :)
Welcome to the Bunnies and Blossoms Banner Hop for Special Needs Children.
- Today and tomorrow (March 24-25), 30+fantastic papercrafters have come together to create Spring-themed banners. They will then donate these banners to Ellen (CardMonkey), who works as Admissions Coordinator at Pediatric Specialty Care (PSC), www.pediatricspecialty.com.
PSC is a long-term care facility for special needs children who are medically-fragile and/or technologically-dependent. The babies, children and youths at PSC range in age from birth to 21, and are admitted from all over the country.
Some are infants, born prematurely and before their lungs have had a chance to mature. Others have serious birth defects, illnesses or injuries from accidents that cause them to need tender loving care in a home-like environment -- many for their lifetimes.
Our banners are meant to cheer the young patients, their families, and the staff at PSC. Here is the banner that I made and will be sending to Ellen to decorate a child's room:
For my banner I FINALLY decided on which rabbit I wanted to use. It was an adorable one on the Nursery Tails Imagine Cartridge. Then I decided to use all 5 of the animal icons on this cartridge. I wanted to make a flower or a rosette for the animals to go on. I finally decided on one on the Ribbons and Rosettes cartridge. I like how it almost makes it look like a flower.
For my papers, I knew I would need 2 full pages per rosette and I wasn't sure if I had 10 pieces of paper that coordinated well together and fit with the animals. So I decide to print my own paper with the imagine using the Nursery Tails cartridge and then I used my gypsy to cut out the rosettes. They were super easy to fold and went together easily. You will need to cut out the rosette 6 times and glue the ends together. Then I used hot glue to hold the rosette together and glued on the animals.
Supplies:
Cricut Imagine
Gypsy
Cricut Expression
Nursery Tails Cartridge
3 N 1 glue
hot glue gun and sticks
white ribbon
white cardstock
circle punch
